PURPOSE OF JOB:
The Area Account Manager will lead and manage Kretek International sales strategies for assigned local distributor accounts and select regional chain accounts within a regional specific sales territory consisting of multiple states. The Area Account Manager can be located in areas such as Indiana, Massachusetts, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois.
Products Sold: Tobacco Products and “OTP” Other Tobacco Products within the category.
This position will be regionally focused and will cover the Midwest/Plains states. The candidate will need to reside new the geographic vicinity to any Regional airport.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and maintains business relationships with identified local distributors and regional chains within a core market sales territory. Interaction with customers is achieved through business correspondence, physical visits, and presentations and through field market visits to assess all potential opportunities.
Ability to interpret and understand company specific sales reports and syndicated data for use in sales presentations.
Ability to accept strategic guidance Director of National Sales along with headquarter leadership.
Possess the ability to coordinate and work closely cross functionally with the Retail Sales Leadership to execute retail chain store initiatives for point of sale execution.
Consistently provide local distributor feedback to all leadership to help drive sales to meet or exceed volume objectives.
Plans and supports all Trade Shows within market area and will assist as needed in others territories with Chain coverage or Trade Shows as requested.
Acts on guidance provided from Director of National Sales coordinating and supporting local distributor strategies to drive key sales objectives.
Responds to all reporting requests, weekly summaries, quarterly reports and other detailed reports as required.
May require up to 75% travel, mostly within a multiple state defined territory, able to store POS/samples/displays.
Valid Driver’s License required.
Associates or Bachelor degree preferred.
5 + years of CPG sales experience preferably in a tobacco sales environment, 6 years of distribution channel sales experience.
Excellent analytical skills; proficient in Microsoft Office Suites software, excellent writing skills, excellent math aptitude.
